Shut Up and Selz!

We are one month into our partnership with Selz.com and we couldn’t be more excited to share how easy and fun the experience has been. When they say “seriously simple selling,” they are not kidding. Selz makes selling a snap!

When we first tested Selz out, we didn’t have any digital products to sell for The SHUT UP Show given the fact we’ve only been at this for 7 months with no intention to begin monetizing this soon. It wouldn’t have made sense for us to promote a company whose products we weren’t using, so we decided to create a quick and easy digital product we could produce in a short period of time with little investment to get a feel for how Selz works.

I’m not gonna lie, it was a bigger learning curve to teach myself how to use Gimp and design our first digital product in a span of a few days since I am not trained in art or design. Completing the art project took way longer than the actual time it takes to get your product up and selling in Selz.

It only takes a few seconds to sign up for Selz and you’ll be up and selling in minutes.

What’s even cooler, your customer never has to leave your site to buy your stuff. Check out our new store:

To give you an idea of what we’re selling, here’s a zoomed in version of one of the Facebook Timeline cover images from our 2013 bundle package we created by incorporating The SHUT UP Show’s most quotable quotes of some of our guests with vibrant and inspiring photography.

As you can see, our experience with Selz was the seamless part of our project. The art part wasn’t impossible to create, but definitely more time-consuming to build than actually selling it.

Because it was so simple to use Selz, Phil decided to add some digital books from his own business web site to sell his products on the platform. It took him less than 3 minutes to set up each product and launch his Selz store. And that’s with little preparation on his part, too!

Phil shares with us just how easy it is to use Selz:

  1. Found product image – uploaded it into Selz
  2. Found product description – copied and pasted it into Selz
  3. Set price for product
  4. Posted link on business website, and shared it on Facebook and Twitter
  5. Made first sale within 48 hours
  6. Paid 1 bill with the money made

Simplicity is what makes me love Selz. Its effective simplicity is what will keep me using Selz for my digital products. – Phil Gerbyshak (click to tweet)

You don’t have to be an artist or designer to develop digital products, as you can tell from this post. With all the new features Selz has been adding, you can now sell services as well! As Phil and I are planning and strategizing for 2014, we already have about a dozen ways we’ll be using Selz in upcoming months.

We are so excited about the financial opportunities Selz is bringing us both on the backend as an amazing sponsor and in the frontend as facilitators of seriously simple selling. If you’ve got a product or service you’re sitting on, what ya waiting for? Shut up and Selz!
